The burger and fries were fresh and hot! This little place brought back memories from when I a little kid...love it!
Freedom a&w :)....had a wonderful experience on the border between ohio and Indiana. Took my mom and brother out to eat and they recommended freedoms a&w. I had the double bacon burger and fries and my mom and brother had the fish sandwich and onion rings . The crew were attentive and courteous. We had our food within 5 minutes and it was delicious!
Today was my first time visiting here. My husband and I stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner. Overall our experience was not good. According to our receipt we ordered at 3:15 p.m. Our food did not arrive until 3:45. There were 4 cars in the drive up area when we ordered, 2 of which left within 5 mins of us arriving. The car across from us who arrived much later than we did received their food before we did. When our food did arrive it wasn't even Luke warm... There was no heat of any kind coming from our food. There was a disgruntled customer closer to the building who was also complaining about the wait and a gentleman came out and there were a lot of raised voices. I had to hit the button twice for our tray to be taken away. Could the food have been good if it was warm/hot?Yes, I believe there is potential. Will we be back? Maybe, but only if we have over an hour to spend to eat a meal.
I have been here twice in the last week. First time I went it was very busy. I got my order quite quickly and everything was hot and very very good. Two days later, went back. They weren't as busy as they were the first day. Waited over 55 minutes for food. Noticed that several people got their food before me that got there after me. I understand that maybe they ordered food that didn't need to be cooked so that didn't bother me at all. After 55 minute wait for food, my fries were cold, was missing quite a few items. I was on my way to the front of the store so I could discuss this with the people and when I noticed they gave me the wrong receipt. After noting defeat, got back in the car and went home. I never say never...because I do like this place, but it may be a lonesome summer this year because after the last stop, I have no immediate plans to go back. Which kills me because this place is a page right out of nostalgia, but at the same time, I can go a few minutes more in Ohio and go to Sonic and get better food and better service.
I visted here when I was 1 and then when I was a bit older but hadn't been back since. My family is local to the area. We were up from VA for my dad's memorial service this weekend. We'd usually go to this A&W each time after we visited Lisbon cemetery right off Deer field road. I remembered as a young girl the bear that spins with the classic mug which hangs high on a pole. Also, the frosted mugs with there famous rootbeer floats. My favorite! My family and I were super impressed when we visted and it was a blessing to reminisce. Thank you for sticking around and excellent service. A+++++++
Great service and great food! Would definitely return.
I had been to this place back when it was A&W and enjoyed it then. Happened to be passing through recently and decided to drop in for some food. Service was quick and friendly. The food was just so-so. I ordered a coney cheese dog with fries and a small peanut butter milkshake. The coney dog and waffle fries tasted good, but the portions were not very big for the money. The milkshake was huge for being a small in my opinion, but it was not very good. The texture was kind of weird. The ice cream was kind of soupy like it was melted, but with frozen chunks in it. It definitely wasn't spoiled or anything, it just seems like they took some partially melted ice cream and then some still frozen solid ice cream and threw it in the blender. There wasn't much peanut butter flavor and the peanut butter that was in it was not mixed in very well. I was rather disappointed with the milkshake. All in all, I wouldn't say I recommend it, but I wouldn't say to avoid it either. If you're hungry and passing by, it's a decent place to stop, but I definitely wouldn't go out of my way for it.
